Random Arena - Battle Deserter
I have an idea for RA to possibly stop rage quitters.
Its basically like the 'Battle Deserter' debuff that gets applied to you when you leave a battleground in World of Warcraft. It would prevent players (possibly whole accounts, so they dont just switch and keep quitting) from entering an RA match for 15 minutes, so they arn't constantly quitting when they don't have a good team or there isn't a monk. It would discourage players to not quit, and it could be possible to get a glad point in there.
I sent this in through support/feedback, and they said to try posting it on fansites to get some peer comments about it.
So say what you think about it, I hope this can actually get put in the game, or at least something like it.
Edit: after seeing that someone posted a thread similar to this (didn't notice it), I'll expect to get flamed.

I think the major problem with it is that people could still just take off their armor and charge into the enemy group as a "legit" way of leaving.

I still think it would give people a reason to actually try. Who knows, maybe a team that you rage quit'd on won against the first team and eventually got a glad point with that added person.
Now doing what you said is just being a douche at that point XD

I think you'll find that a large portion of the community feel they are in the right in regards to having the right to "reroll" teams if they don't end up in a good one. Forcing them to stick in teams against their will isn't going to work.
You need to separate those who want to grind titles and those who want to pvp just because they enjoy it. Imo, the simplest way to do it is to either remove glad points from RA, or make a "rookie arena" which is identical to RA only without gladpoints or any form of title progression.
I'm one of those people who don't really ever "get into" gw's pvp, but I still really enjoy just dabbling in it. It's a shame that we're so unwelcome in RA because we suck or whatever. I could be wrong, but I always assumed ANet primarily intended RA to be a "starting" place for people to try out pvp.

Not exactly. Flaming isn't really tolerated, so you shouldn't expect to be flamed for an idea. However, you can expect to have your thread locked because the idea has already been posted before (and in this case, numerous times, creating an organizational disaster).
As per the forum guidelines, 'tis locked.
